You can verify our registration at any time on the TPB Public Register using our registration number 90529000 or our business name.

The Code of Professional Conduct

As a registered BAS agent we are required, among other obligations, to:

• act honestly and with integrity;
• comply with the taxation laws in the conduct of our own affairs;
• act lawfully in your best interests and manage conflicts of interest;
• maintain the confidentiality of your information unless we have a legal duty to disclose it;
• provide services competently and maintain the knowledge and skills relevant to the services we provide;
• not knowingly obstruct the proper administration of the taxation laws;
• advise you of your rights and obligations under the taxation laws that are materially related to the services we provide; and
• maintain professional indemnity insurance that meets TPB requirements.

Information we must disclose to you

The TPB requires registered agents to make certain information available to current and prospective clients, including:

• The TPB maintains a public register of tax and BAS agents at tpb.gov.au/public-register.
• If you have a complaint about our services, please contact us first at nicolette@njmandco.com.au so we can try to resolve it. You may also lodge a complaint with the TPB at tpb.gov.au/complaints.
• We are required to notify you if certain prescribed events have occurred (such as relevant suspensions or convictions). No such events apply to NJM&Co.

Your obligations

The taxation laws also place obligations on you as a taxpayer - including providing us with complete and accurate information, keeping the records required by law, and lodging and paying on time. We will always tell you what we need and when.
